Write about your dream home.

Never thought daily prompts would be so much fun and an opportunity to think about things which othetwise we may not.

One of uncle  used to say  “owing  a house and having a happy home are two different things”

It is so true, it is not necessary to  have your own house to make it a dream home. Home is because of the people living there.  My dream home is where everyone lives in harmony,  despite having difference of opionion.   Love, respect and tolerance , filled with laughter of my loved ones.

I am living in my dream home.

Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?

My love for walking has not diminished a bit since my childhood. As I was growing up used to love walking in solitary roads on the mountain in Shimla or on the bank of Tawi River in Jammu .

When my brother shifted to Manali – surrounded by snow- clad peaks and forest with pine trees all around, it was amazing. Walking in the crisp pure air has been a bliss. Sitting and gazing at the star in the night seems ike i am one of them.

I am fortunate to be living near the sea since I moved to UAE. Long walks on the beach , listening to the waves, obsetving the changing colors of the waters would never tire me.

When one keep the excitement going, hobbies become way of life.

I am blessed to be connected with nature always. It has contributed to my creativity and stability. ⭐🙏🏻⭐

What’s your favorite candy?

Thinking of candy took me back to my childhood. Those days there were not many options. Still remember orange candies in the shape of orange segments, and morten toffees. I think it was for 5 or 10 paisas or so. Also the poppins, which are still available.

Not exactly but something like this

Now the variety is unlimited, but my favorite are still those, would buy in loads if I can get them

Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.

I am not much into planning ahead. Evety day has its own way to unfold. Sometimes the morning time is best but may not end well.

There is no ideal day as such. Each day is a blessing in itself. If I could help someone make his/her day better, thatz the ideal day.

Something on your “to-do list” that never gets done

I am not a person to have a to-do list. I believe in as we -go thing.

Still one thing I wanted is pilgrim to AMARNATH CAVE in Kashmir. It is a tough journey through mountains , iced lakes but when one reached the cave surrounding, it is worth every moment of hardship.

Second is Kaliash mansrovar.

I do not know whether it would materialize in this lifetime or not.

What’s your favorite thing to cook?

I love making tea. Whenever I am tense, it is very relaxing. Actually focusing on the whole process.

But then I love cooking. As i m a vegetarian so it is veg or vegan. favorite cusines are Kashmiri . Authantic kashmiri dishes are cooked without onion, harluc or tomatoes. The reason might be that these were not available in older days . It is cold and wintery and roads were not accessible almost half of the year. Only the dry powdered ingredients are used. The medium of cooking is mustard oil. Itz is a slow cooking process and the outcome is great.

Then I live Dogri (Jammu) cuisine. Ahain no onion or garlic. Very simple to cook but great taste.

Himachal has so many different varities, depending on the region and the people. Himachali DHAM is very famous. Won’t go into details, as it is a vast subject. It is simple ,yet delicious and healthy too.

I love to spend time in the kitchen. It is one of my happy place, other being the beach. Both are relaxing and help me get my writing ideas.

My son is my ardent supporter and critic too

” When he hugs me A radiant smile on his face His eyes twinkling light Is the reward “

Write about your first computer.

The first computer I worked on was Wipro 286 in 1994 with B/W Monitor. Do not remeber the specification, but it had 3 inch and 5.1/4 inch floppy drive. Opersting system was DOS, No mouse. Starting on 286 single user to Network had enjoyed the advancement in Tech. Then came the Pentium and Windows operating system.

Have worked on Apple Macintosh that time. Single unit CPU and Monitor, with keyboard and mouse, Mac OS . It was so enjoyable to work especially on the graphic side. This was with colored display .

We have come a long long way but the pleasure of working in computer industry so early on, when in our state (Jammu and Kadhmir) it was not common or popular, is an unforgettable experience .

What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

Never thought of this before. I M scared of height, can not see down the high rise buildings

But had done trekking in the moutains in J&K and Himachal Pradesh. Have walked through paths which are at quiet a height on mountains but never felt scared.

Even Scared has two side as the coin.

What do you complain about the most?

Has complaining ever solved anything ❓❓❓

It is not that I do not complain at all. Life is a mix bag of situations. Someone hurts you or wrong you , then it is genuine . Instead of complaing to others, talking to concerned person is better. It may or may not solve the issue. If that is not happening then asking for help becomes necessary. That is not complaining.

Sometimes we talk to our close people just to get it out of our system, it does not mean cribbing. There is a thin line between genuine reason and complain. We have to decide based on our perception.
