Write about a few of your favorite family traditions.

Family traditions are mix of old and new. It is interesting to see how activities of one generation passed on to the next become traditions and connects them.

We use to sit for hours near the window of our dinning room drinking tea, laughing and chatting. Now I do the same with my son, sharing coffee at our favourite coffee house and talking for hours. The conversations are treasures of momories we make together. I am sure he is going to do the same once he has his own family. It would become a tradition.

Moving from dining room to Coffee house-tradition of Togetherness continues

(My son is 23 years old now but my buddy since his childhood. I believe in soul connections, and this one is deepest of all. )

As a family We always celebrate our special days at midnight, 3 of us exchanging wishes and greetings.

Hindu festivals like LOHARI, MAKAR SAKRANTI, NAVRATRI are very special because there are rituals associated with them which are traditional handed over by older generations. I believe that when we perform them, then only our children would understand the importance and preserve them. Every tradition has roots in logic and we have to make our children understand , so that they carry forward.

“Traditions do not change but may evolve with the changing times. They are always relevant, no matter what times we are living in “
