A friend shared this. A monk explains the love, attachments and relationships so beautifully
When people say we love someone, their expectations from the relationship rises. And they feel the other person is duty-bound to fulfill all their desires. They are looking to bind others to them, want them to think their way.
In school time, we used to trace maps for geography by using tracing paper, so that we can have exact shape and size. (those days there was no web to just take a print out). People also expect the same in relationships, especially in marriage and love. They consciously or otherwise want their partners to be like them.

Footprints on the sand so deep and intense
Leaving a trail behind,

A wave comes rushing to fill up the steps
Leaving nothing behind,
Why then we repeatedly walk on edge for
Leaving nothing behind,
Even the impression of the journey is only in mind
Leaving nothing behind,
So my dear friends be grateful for forgetfulness
It leaves nothing behind.

Today I am posting my 50th thought, this one for my Son Arihant (Twinkle). He gave me one of my most cherished relation – MASSI
Precious moments in my treasure box,
They are my inspiration and memories too,
They are the reason for my gratitude,
When I held him in my arms for the first time,
The Twinkling eyes filled my heart with love,
His warmth enriched my soul,
Priceless moment out of my treasure box.

Fear -PART III
‘We are not afraid of the darkness but the fear of not able to see anything‘
We talk about gender equality. Have we ever thought from where this inequality comes from.? When a child is born, does he/she starts behaving according to the gender. When hungery does a boy cry differently then a girl, or smile or laugh differently. No, it does’nt. It is the parents or other people who make differentiation. Blue for the boy and pink for the girl. If a baby boy is dressed in pink, do you think he will protest or vise-a-versa. The grown ups give dolls to the girls and cars to the boys. Slowly the distinction start getting more and more marked
Right from the early years the boys are made aware that they are strong. Don’t weep when you fall down and get hurt, because you are a strong boy. And poor child in the fears of appearing weak, puts on a brave front.. When he comes crying because some other child beat him or he lost while playing, what is parents response? Oh, you are a boy, be strong and next time fight back and give him nicely.
So by the time child is ready to start schooling, he is well aware of his superiority and expectations attached to it and he is constantly under pressure to behave accordingly. Through out the school years he is pushed to go for sports and other things which will make him strong and masculine. Poor child just because of fear he may do things which he may not enjoy or like. But who has the time to ask him what he would like to do, be it parents, teachers or others around him. Even if they know, it may not be a good idea in their opinion.
By the time he reaches age 20, it is cemented in him that he has to earn a living and take the responsibilities of family being male member. And he is constantly under the pressure to perform well. For the fear of upsetting his parents, he would choose the career according to their expectations. After all as a son he is duty-bound. Do we realise the plight of a young man, who has fear of not being successful. He may have different aspirations and expectation from life but most of the time he would not dare to venture. What if it does not work out? He may become a subject of radicule among the society. As he goes further the fears keep increasing, to perform better. After marriage to be an ideal husband and a father. Poor thing , he dare not think about himself as an individual. Is’nt ‘rooted in fear’ says it all.
Fear has a crippling effect on not just body but mind also. We associate fear with only external factors but it is more to do with our own self. The question is how to remove it? First of all, we need to acknowledge it and then try to get over it little by little. If it is too late for present generation, we can make a conscious effort to set our children free from the burden of expectations. This may pave the path towards living without fear of failure.
This is in continuation on of fear series PART – I & II

Every day we thank our mothers in so many ways but today it being “Mother’s day” is a reminder for us to say it in a special way. For us (Me, my brother Sanjay, and sister (Joy) our Massi is our mother our world. Massi (mother’s sister) means like mother, but she has treated us like her own children and stood by us in each and every moment of our joys and sorrows. In today’s world it is rear to find love so selfless and so profound. No words of gratitude could express what you mean to us.
Her embracing arms are our shelter,
Her soft hands have the healing magic,
Her wisdom a guiding light in our path,
Where would we find love so pure?
It is only in her beautiful eyes.
She said you are never alone,
She said you are part of my world,
She said I am the rock you can lean on,
She said all your sorrows are mine,
She cries when we are in pain,
She Laughs when we are happy,
She said my home is yours,
Where would we find someone like her,
We thank her everyday in thousand ways,
Her being in our life is blessing of GOD,
MAA(mother) represents HIM on this earth,
But in our life HE had send two representatives,
One was our mother and other is our MASSI,
Today is a day to salute her and say Thank you,
For showering us with her unconditional love.

‘Temporary in my view is the most relevant word which defines our existence on earth’
Blessed with the natural wisdom,
The birds make a nest,
Not for themselves to live in,
But just to bring up their offsprings,
The caves existing naturally,
The wild beings only take shelter there,
Apart from man no living being has a home,
As if they are aware of their temporary existence.
. . We in our arrogance just simply forget,
. Few years or few decades still it is limited,
. We own nothing neither the land nor the resources,
. The mad rush for possessions is worthless,
. The hate, the cheating or killings is useless,
. The king or the pauper everyone is mortal.

The life has a way to keep growing,
Day by day silently and continuously,
It teaches us without an syllabus,
We are neither promoted or demoted,
Nor we are time-bound in learning,
Then why once out of formal education,
We keep re-cycling what we learned,
I am an apprentice of nature till the end,
I learn to be open like the sky,
Sun teaches me warmth and light,
The streams, the rivers and the ocean,
They tell me to flow constantly ,
Each and every element is a symbolic tutor,
And the best part of this apprenticeship is,
It is limitless boundless and free for all

. . Buddha-Symbol of liberation (image courtesy Joy Gupta Clay Artist)
Prayers are universal, the forms and the way of performing may be different. But the result is the same. It makes us strong and centered. Prayers are the roots on which the tree of spirituality stands strong, and it’s power is felt at the time of adversities or difficult situations. It is my personal experience that which ever road we take, all leads to one direction – THE LIBERATION.
This is a beautiful poem by Nithya Shanti which explains it all . (To know more about the Author check Facebook page Nithya Shanti)
There are talking prayers
There are listening prayers
There are prayers that petition
For certain outcomes
There are prayers that release
Attachment to all outcomes
One is a sincere call
The other is a joyful freefall
Whatever brought us here
Will also guide us home
In time we realize how
Wisdom strengthens faith
Faith strengthens wisdom
Pray any way you like
Or don’t, if it doesn’t feel right
Do whatever feels light
And liberates your worries
Like a snipped string kite
